SIMS is sounding the alarm to the national opioid epidemic rapidly seeping into Austin communities. The number of SIMS clients seeking treatment for opioids and other substances doubled in 2017 from the previous year. We’re feeling the pressure on our limited resources, and last year we were forced to ration services to meet the demand of those seeking treatment. We need your help to combat this national epidemic at our doorstep. Please support this important work.
February 27, the Austin Music Awards return to ACL Live benefiting SIMS and HAAM. Austin’s answer to the Grammy’s promises to be extra special with incredible musical performances and presentation of the Townes Van Zandt Songwriter Award to SIMS co-founder Alejandro Escovedo.
On Vinyl Media launched their online local music merch shop in late 2018, with 50% of profits going to SIMS Foundation and HAAM. This effort continues throughout 2019 as part of On Vinyl’s effort to build a stronger local music community. With new artists steadily being added to the store, this is the place to go to support your favorite Austin musicians and music nonprofits!
Austin City Limits Radio is back with Broadcasts Vol. 26, a collection of their favorite live performances from the past year. We’re honored to once again be beneficiaries from CD and (for the first time ever) vinyl sales. Purchase your copy today!
