Mental Health 101: Venue Trainings

SIMS designs and delivers interactive Mental Health 101 training sessions for music venues to ensure managers, bartenders, bar backs, sound engineers, door staff and other venue employees have the tools they need for their own mental wellness, and can identify and help customers in need of support.

Although our day to day clinical services are focused on musicians and music industry folks, SIMS participates in the larger community conversations around reducing stigma and increasing access for mental health care for the entire Austin community.

Patsy Bouressa, SIMS Clinical Director and Interim Executive Director, helps shape mental health delivery in Travis County with her input and activity on the following committees:
