Travis County District Attorney & SIMS Presents: Safer Together

The Travis County District Attorney’s Office and the nonprofit SIMS Foundation are partnering again to host the third annual “Safer Together: Overdose Prevention & Harm Reduction Saves Lives” benefit concert. The annual music event was launched in 2021 to raise awareness about the increasing number of overdose deaths in Travis County and connect our community with lifesaving resources.

For the first time, the benefit concert will be a live music and comedy event, with performances from 6:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Far Out Lounge, located at 8504 S. Congress Avenue, Austin, Texas, 78745. Travis County District Attorney José Garza will deliver opening remarks to launch the event.

The Safer Together concert will be free to attend with an RSVP, although donations will be suggested. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the SIMS Foundation. The event was also created to raise awareness and funds for the SIMS Foundation’s mission of providing mental health and substance use recovery services to individuals in the music industry and their dependent family members.

In addition to the music performances, various health and community organizations such as Austin Texas Musicians, Texas Harm Reduction Alliance, and VOCAL-TX will have tables at the venue to share information about their services and connect participants with resources.
