SIMS collaborates with a diverse network of experienced providers, many of whom have expertise working with creatives, performers, and hardworking music industry professionals.
“Working with the Austin music community has been an incredible experience, and a true gift to me as a provider. I believe helping musicians heal gives voice to their music, which in turn, heals the hearts of so many and keeps the soul of Austin’s community alive and thriving.”
– Mary Combs, SIMS Provider Network member since 1998
Provider requirements
SIMS’ clinical team works closely with our providers to manage the care of our clients. Providers are located all over Central Texas and are carefully selected by clinical staff to ensure that we offer a wide range of services, treatment modalities, and cultural competence.
Providers may see clients in their own offices, via telehealth, or a combination of both. Providers manage client documentation through their own EHR and schedule their own sessions. The SIMS provider network is made up of psychologists, LPCs, LCSWs, LMFTs, LCDCs, psychiatrists, and psychiatric nurse practitioners.
Providers must do the following:
- be fully licensed by the Texas State Board of Examiners for the profession(s) in which they are licensed, and must submit proof of licensure;
- maintain and provide proof professional licensure is in good standing on an annual basis;
- maintain professional liability insurance at all times, provide SIMS with proof of current insurance prior to admission, and provide proof on an annual basis;
- sign and return the SIMS Counseling and Psychiatry Provider Agreement at the time of admission and at the time of any major change in SIMS Policies and Procedures;
- have an email account at which you receive client identifying information, notices and requests from SIMS staff;
- agree to submit claims to SIMS within 30 days of date of service;
- agree to accept payment via ACH transfer (direct deposit),
- agree to use the current SIMS client information system for real-time data entry, timely authorization, re-enrollment, and prompt and accurate payment; and
- act as independent contractors. Providers are not employees of SIMS Foundation and will receive a 1099 from SIMS.
Provider benefits:
In return for your philanthropy to the Central Texas music community, SIMS network providers receive:
- prompt payment of claims using an easy online billing system;
- permission to use SIMS’ logo and identify as a SIMS network provider on their website;
- case management assistance and consultation with members of the SIMS clinical team;
- the opportunity to attend special music events, as a guest of SIMS.
- the option to join SIMS in providing mental health support to Austin’s music community in the event of a crisis
- access to the same Community Perks (discounts/promotions at local businesses) available to SIMS clients
The SIMS Foundation adds providers to our network on an ongoing basis. When necessary, we maintain a waiting list and fill positions as needed.
