SIMS Foundation Celebrates 30th Anniversary with May 18th Event On Posted on March 27, 2025 The SIMS Foundation proudly announces its 30th Anniversary Celebration, marking three decades of providing vital mental health and substance use recovery services to Austin’s music industry professionals and their families. The celebration will take place on Sunday, May 18, 2025, from 3 to 9 PM at Empire Control Room & Garage.Over the past 30 years, SIMS Foundation has been a cornerstone of Austin’s vibrant music community, supporting thousands of individuals with accessible mental health resources, counseling, and crisis intervention services. Founded in 1995 in memory of beloved Austin musician Sims Ellison, the foundation has played a pivotal role in ensuring the well-being of those who help make Austin the Live Music Capital of the World, investing $50M+ to provide life-saving mental health and recovery services to more than 25,000 music industry professionals through more than 300,000 sessions of support.The milestone event will feature a dynamic lineup of acclaimed Austin musicians, including a performance by Sims’ brother Kyle Ellison and his band Night Glitter, joined by Alejandro Escovedo, Wayne Nagel, and Don Harvey, as well as Quiet Company, Parker Woodland, nolo, School of Rock, and more. A full lineup and tickets will be announced in early April.In addition to live performances, attendees can enjoy a variety of interactive experiences, including live screen printing, photo booths, and testimonial booths where individuals can share their experiences with the SIMS Foundation. Austin City Council Member Jose Velasquez will also be in attendance to deliver a City Proclamation honoring SIMS Foundation’s enduring impact.
